swim lessons

This week, the kids have been taking private swim lessons at Ester & Lester's pool. Julia Bell who is in my ward & just graduated has been doing it. She teaches at Dixie college & was actually Ez's swim teacher last year & was on Snow Canyon's swim team. They each get 45 minutes alone which sometimes can be hard for them but for the most part are really liking it.

Ez is the one I thought won't get much out of it at this age - but the private lessons - man they are really benefiting him. He's using his arms when he swims around & can dive down to grab the diving sticks.

Adde had a rough first few days - not wanting to listen at all! Or swim away from her. Or go under while she's trying to talk to her. It made me angry. She kept saying - I already know how to swim. She started out with a bad attitude. But yesterday & today - she did awesome & you can see when you listen - there's improvement {that's what happens when there's threats & favorite blankets are taken away}. She is doing really good with her breast stroke & actually breathing kind of right. Julia has also been working with her dive & she's getting more & more comfortable with it. It's really funny - whenever she throws the 7 diving sticks in {whether it's the deep end or shallow} Adde gets them all in one breath, even if they are spread all over. It's a game to her. Whatever pushes her!

Yesterday, as Ez was swimming on his back with Julia, he got up & said, "Mom, why did you sign us up for swimming lessons?" & I said, "to help you be a better swimmer" Ez, "I don't want to be a better swimmer" & puts his head right back in the water & kept swimming like he was doing before.

I need to get my kids in lessons. That would be so nice to do privates with a friend.
