first day of KINDERGARTEN aug. 18

We've met Mrs. Heger & love her, had our testing done, know where to sit & where to hang back pack; this girlie is ready for her FIRST day of kindergarten.

Adde & I had a little girl's day a few weeks ago to pick out an outfit she would wear the first day of school. Even though we were supposed to wear RED our first day (we only had a Christmas dress or Fourth of July dress) we wore RED earrings & painted our fingernails RED instead! These are just a few of the kids from our neighborhood in her class: Gwyn Lamoureaux, Gabe Layton & Andrew Ord. I couldn't believe how many kids we knew from church, our neighbors & friends that ended up being in her class. Makes me happy that she will go in that much easier. & her teacher is our good friend, Heather Wadsworth, mother - which has helped to know Mrs. Heger better.

So happy Gwynie, Adde & Anna are all in the same class. Gwyn is one of my favorite people's daughter & Anna is a cousin. Adde adores both of these girls

Some of the class got to bring something to help get to know them better. Adde brought her pink polka -dotted stingray she got from Myrtle Beach. I don't know why she choose that but she was so excited- so who cares, right?

& to be honest - not one ounce of me was sad. Headstart prepared me so much for that last year where she was gone 2 1/2 hours more last year than this (with a 2 hour bus commute) Kelly & I are both just so excited for her to go & learn & make friends. She has been waiting for this day since before preschool ended last year. Ezra was very sad & upset to see his sister leave him. He was sad we left without her. He's missing his best buddy - but he'll start a little preschool group in a few weeks & she won't be missed as much. It's just hard to believe how big both my kids are getting - so grown up!!
