Most girls dressed up in red, white & blue but the West girls all dressed up like little Swiss girls to celebrate 150 years of our Swiss American ancestors in Santa Clara.
Ester & her sister Alice always go above & beyond to make the tea party turn out just darling. Alot of planning goes into it each year. & it's a fun way to learn about our ancestors. Adde has really taken an interest since & is often asking questions about different ancestors.

There's always the runway for each of the grandkids to take their turn showing off what they are wearing that year.
The decorations are always so cute {although I didn't take pictures of any around} & it was all red, white & blue.
Ester took LOTS of time making these paper dolls for all of us & then a booklet for everyone with 4 generations of the paperdolls & telling about each grandmother. It was really cute. The girls LOVED their paper dolls & waited all week to play with them.
We tried a very unsuccesful pole weaving that they used to do in Switzerland. I'm sure if you didn't have so many little kids it may have worked out - too confusing for them though.
